Cruising the most southern part of the River Meuse on a motor yacht
We cruise the River Meuse from Ophoven along Stevensweert, Thorn and Wessem, before we decide if we want to continue north to Roermond or head west to Weert on the canal.
Have you ever thought of a luxury boating holiday in the Dutch province of Limburg? The river Maas and the Zuid-Willemsvaart offer a wide variety of nature, culture, cities and beautiful areas to sail with your motor yacht and enjoy the Burgundian life. On and in many of the lakes there are smaller and larger harbours where you can moor if you can't or don't want to anchor. There are too many to mention, so this is by no means complete.
Cruising your motoryacht through Maastricht and surrounding
The first gravel pit we encounter on our right is the gravel pit East-Marland. This gravel pit is the southernmost tip of Maastricht, the largest city in Limburg on the Meuse. With a small island in the middle, there are excellent anchorages. Fun Valley Maastricht, for example, is right across the canal.
When you sail from De Spaanjerd, you will come to one of the many Limburg Maasplassen. These are dredged lakes where it is very pleasant to be, and the water quality can be very good and clear.
