Come along and discover the world from a different side: the water. Our exclusive, escorted Blue Water flotilla takes you from our home port of Willemstad in Zeeland to the beautiful Isle of Wight on the south coast of England and back again.
On the journey we will visit picturesque harbours, anchor in beautiful nature, eat delicious local dishes and meet fellow boaters.
Every part of the journey has its own charm and unique moments. Zeeland has its nature with seals and picturesque places. The Belgian coastal towns radiate nostalgia of the past, but are modern harbour towns. During the crossing of the Channel, you get to know the North Sea... the waves, the commercial shipping, sailors, navigating at sea and all the rules and regulations that go with it.
South coast of England
You sail with your charter yacht along the south coast of England with the spectacular white cliffs of the Seven Sisters and finally via the unique lighthouse on 'the Needles' cliff all the way to the west of the beautiful Isle of Wight, before starting - via other places - the return journey.
You can take part in this flotilla on your own Linssen yacht, or you can hire the Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 AC Variotop. The trip will be led by a specialised flotilla leader who knows everything about the sailing areas, places and ports and who will of course help you with any manoeuvres if necessary. By sailing in a flotilla, you combine your own knowledge and expertise with that of the team leader and other Linssen sailors, which means you will dare to go further than if you were to sail alone. A unique sailing experience, therefore, in which you acquire new knowledge.
Sailing at sea, tides, freight traffic, assessing wind and weather forecasts etc. are discussed and explained in the group. This teaches you a lot and you can use this knowledge later when you want to make a bigger trip on your own.
When and where?
The Maiden Voyage of the Blue Water flotilla will depart on July 1st 2022 from Willemstad (NL) and be back on July 21st 2022 in St. Annaland / Willemstad. A comprehensive sailing route brochure, with all the important aspects you may encounter, will help you during the trip. Of course, all ships will be in contact with each other by VHF radio and telephone to help each other out.
